EventTech 2016: Sessions We Can’t Wait to See
Posted by Legacy Marketing / November 7
How does Legacy stay ahead of the latest technologies, upcoming trends and best practices in the industry? Answer: our attendance at EventTech is key. Hosted by Event Marketer, EventTech is an annual conference that gathers brand marketers and agencies to showcase the latest uses of technology and social media for optimizing live experiences. This year’s conference takes place November 14-16 at the Paris Las Vegas Hotel in Las Vegas.
A quick glance at the EventTech program can be a bit overwhelming with all the options of sessions, but fear not. This year, we are sending five representatives from Legacy to attend and present. While we will be at dozens of sessions over the course of two days, we came together to pick five sessions we are most excited for. Here are our staff picks for sessions at EventTech 2016:
TECHNOLOGY THAT MEASURES STAFF TRAINING & PERFORMANCE
Tuesday, Nov. 15, 1:45 – 2:15 PM | Holly Bentson’s Pick (Senior Account Executive)
I manage dozens of retail sampling programs for our clients, so this session is of particular interest to me. Retail samplings are a proven method of driving product awareness and trial. That said, the person conducting the sampling is critical to its success. I’ll look forward to hearing about training platforms that are easily mobile and accessible so the staff has the information they need to provide consumers with meaningful brand interactions.
HOW HOLOLENS WILL CHANGE YOUR WORLD
Tuesday, Nov. 15, 4:15 – 4:45 PM | Sam Zuba’s Pick (Senior Digital Producer)
I’m most excited for Helios Interactive’s presentation on Microsoft’s AR-based Hololens. I believe augmented reality is a few short years away from making massive waves in the Event Marketing world. Hololens is at the forefront of this technology. I’m eager to learn what’s next for the growing platform.
DATA-DRIVEN STORYTELLING: INSIDE THE SPOTIFY HOUSE
Tuesday, Nov. 15, 4:15 – 4:45 PM | Jordan Lipshutz’s Pick (Marketing Communications Manager)
I decided to take a year off from my chateau in Cannes, so I was not able to make it to Cannes Lion to see the Spotify House. That said, it sounds like it was quite the experience. I’m eager to hear about this case study and the various technical components of this activation, but also how they were able to tell their story and make data visualization appealing to the attendees.
GEN Z: SOCIAL MEDIA & DIGITAL CONTENT STRATEGIES FOR THE ‘Z’ CREW
Tuesday, Nov. 15, 5:00 – 5:30 PM | Leah Wymer’s Pick (Account Supervisor)
I’m looking forward to learn how to best connect with Generation Z consumers through social media and digital content. Cracking the code to break through all the clutter of tweets, posts and digital content will help our Brand Ambassadors connect with our demographic on a more meaningful level.
TOOLS FOR TRACKING THE ATTENDEE JOURNEY, WITH IBM
Wednesday, Nov. 16, 11:30 – 12:00 PM | Matt Brown’s Pick (Director of Digital)
I’m very excited about the new things that IBM has been doing in this area. Our digital team took out a pilot IBM BlueMix/Watson accounts in order to experiment with some of the new services they’re offering for automation, artificial intelligence, attendee insights and ROI. I’m eager to hear the POV of people that have been involved in designing and launching these services firsthand.
